Connections Awards First Grants for Youth and Education Programs

Six grants for educational programs serving youth were awarded on Saturday, January 21, 2006 by the members of Connections, a new fund at Richland County Foundation.

The Advisory Committee of Connections hosted a Winter Gala at OSU/Mansfield campus for all Connections members and the recipients of their first grants. Joanne Blay, Chair of the Advisory Committee, announced the following grants:

Camp Mowana for "Project Encounter" 

Crestview High School for "The Deliberate Scholar"

Kids Connections of Ohio, Inc. for "Empowering Kids"

Mansfield Senior High School for "Taking Back Character - Entrepreneurial Skills"

Mansfield City Schools, Carpenter Elementary for "Tying the Science Curriculum to the Multiple Intelligences"

Youth for Christ for "Kid U Never Gonna Forget This Summer"
